Lariden House
Zero-energy private country house on a one-acre site.
Built using Insulating Concrete Formwork (ICF) and clad in brick slips to comply with a previously secured consent, the project achieves exceptionally low energy consumption while delivering outstanding comfort and internal quality.
To reduce the visible massing, a substantial basement — housing a swimming pool, spa and lounge areas, a staff apartment, and the main plant room — is concealed below the garden. Sustainable engineering features include zonal heat recovery, geothermal heat pumps, photovoltaic panels, energy storage, and both rainwater and greywater harvesting. All U-values meet or exceed Passive House standards.
