Floating Sports Centre
Conceptual study for modular floating sports and recreational facilities in dense urban areas where free land is limited — such as Canary Wharf.
Our research examined the typology and regulatory context of floating buildings in the UK and the EU, analysed their advantages and constraints, and reviewed suitable construction methods, materials and technologies for both hull and superstructure. We proposed an optimal base module, along with options for scalable configurations.
Feasibility and long-term sustainability were key drivers throughout the study.
